Two warm, welcoming self-catering cottages in the glorious Peak District hills a mile from Chinley village - a perfect base for walking, cycling, bird watching or unwinding by a log fire in tranquil surroundings on our quiet sheep farm. An easy drive from Buxton and Bakewell; Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Lyme Park, the Castleton Caverns and so much more!
Choose the Old House, a romantic Tudor hideaway for couples or spacious Cherry Tree Cottage sleeping 6 in 3 pretty bedrooms, both beautifully restored and modernised but retaining soaring oak beams and great character. Gold award Old House has mullioned windows; a large bedroom with king-size bed; lovely views over the garden to the hills beyond; a sitting room with original inglenook fireplace and a mix of antique furniture and comfortable modern seating. Historic Methodist hymn writer Charles Wesley found shelter here too!
Cherry Tree Cottage with its separate sunny dining room, with seating at the big picture window; sitting room with log fire; rear patio with BBQ; downstairs shower room and upstairs bathroom gives comfortable flexibility.
We have looked after happy guests and their well behaved dogs for 28 years and can advise on walks, the excellent local pubs and wildlife on the farm.
