Jane and Jonathan would like to welcome you to The Manager's House,.

Self-catering accommodation in the hamlet of Gratton in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales situated in the Peak District National Park. Close to Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and the pretty Market town of Bakewell, capital of the Peak District, with its many restaurants, cafes and shops, all close by to the River Wye. Excellent location for walking and cycling with the Limestone Way and High Peak Trail and the magnificent Monsal Head within easy reach. Nearby Gratton Dale is well known for wild flowers including orchids in season.

The Manager's House is a substantial Victorian house with a south facing garden, enjoying a spacious country kitchen with an oil fired range and a comfortable sitting room with a welcoming Clearview wood stove. Also on the ground floor are a utility room and a bathroom with a shower-bath. The house is fully double glazed and centrally heated. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a Super King sized double and one with twin beds. Both have views over the garden and fields to the hamlet of Dale End.

Children are welcome. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, but downstairs only please.

We live round the corner in the converted Cheese Factory, close for your convenience but separated for your privacy. Do come!

The Cheese Factory is at the junction of 3 lanes in Gratton Valley.

From Youlgreave: By the church, go down Bradford Road. After crossing the River Bradford go steeply up and over Mawstone Lane. After the hairpin bend, go steeply down to the junction .

From Middleton by Youlgreave: Leave the Square with the War Memorial Gardens and Play Park on your right hand side and then the small church on your left hand side. Past 2 farms at Smerrill, up and then steeply down to the junction.

From Elton: With the church on your right hand side, go straight out of Elton. Ignore the right turn to Alport. Go straight on steeply down, past Dale End (telephone box) then 300 yards to the juction.

There are buses to Youlgrave, Middleton by Youlgreave and Elton from Matlock and/or Bakewell. The nearest railway station is Matlock. The nearest main railway line is Chesterfield. Collection possible.
