Recently converted farm cottages with stunning views over the Hope Valley. Superbly equipped, original beams and features. Situated in an historic and popular area, famous for the Blue John Mine and local caverns. Footpaths from the doorstep. Ideal for visiting all areas of the Peak District National Park.
Both cottages are furnished and equipped to the same high standard with careful attention to detail to make your stay memorable. Each cottage has full central heating and double glazing, two bathrooms: one upstairs with a bath, basin and WC, and a downstairs shower room with basin and WC. With TV CD, DVD in the cosy sitting rooms and oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer in the kitchen areas, everything is provided for you. There is also an adjacent laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for your free use. Riding House Farm is a working farm of 140 acres. If you bring your wellies you will be able to see the newborn lambs in Spring, visit the calf house and even feed the hens! There is an abundance of wildlife around especially in our own secluded bluebell wood.
From your doorstep you can take the footpath directly to Lose Hill Ridge and enjoy another spectacular view over the Edale Valley to the famous Kinder Scout.
David and Denise Matthews have farmed at Riding House for over 30 years. They are the modern day Shepherd and Milkmaid! If needed, they will be on hand to help you make the most of your stay in the Peak District National Park
The Hope Valley is an ideal base for exploring the
treasures of the Peak District.
In addition to the wonderful scenery, there are numerous attractions including nearby
Castleton caves and castle, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the plague village of Eyam.
If you have any energy left after walking the hills, the Hope Valley offers climbing, cycling, pony trekking, swimming,
angling, gliding and parascending. Or why not just relax!
