Foolow Well Dressing under Construction at Foolow
Find out more about this ancient custom by watching the well dressers at work. After the design has been agreed and marked out on the damp clay, the team outlines the sections using peppercorns or cicely seeds and then begins to fill the picture in with other natural materials such as grass, petals and leaves. At the end of each display, the clay we use is recycled for the following year.
