Lights, Camera Action! Matlock becomes home to the Starlings
COMEDY legend Steve Coogan has chosen to set his new TV show in Matlock - and locals have already spotted TV trucks rolling into the town to start filming. Called Starlings, the sitcom stars Matt King, from Channel 4's Peep Show, and tells the story of a working class family who live in the Derbyshire town.
Coogan, famed for his alter ego Alan Partridge, is producing the show, which is currently filming on location in Matlock. It is not the first time Matlock has been a film and TV location. This is England director Shane Meadows shot scenes in Matlock for his film Dead Man's Shoes.
Due to be shown on Sky 1, the programme will follow the lives of the Starling family. You can watch the trailer for Starlings below.
The trailers below are for forthcoming films that both feature locations in the Peak District. Hardwick Hall is among the many Harry Potter film locations and stars as Malfoy Manor in the final Harry Potter chapter, and "The Holding" was filmed here in the Peak District.
