Richard Wheeler

The Peak District Visitor Guide's front cover was revitalised for 2012 by Richard Wheeler's Stanage Millstones image. Here are some words from Richard about when he took the picture.

"The millstones below Stanage Edge make a great location for sunrise. On this particular morning just as the sun was rising, it illuminated the foggy sky into one of the most amazing colourful displays I've ever witnessed."

Richard enjoys taking photographs at first or last light where soft golden colours transform beautiful landscapes into something special. With no formal training, it was a steep learning curve and he spent many hours out with the camera experimenting with different compositions and settings. Richard feels this has allowed him to create his own unique style of landscape photography.
