CHRIS GILBERT

My photography evolved from my frustrations as a struggling landscape painter and it has been remarked how my images often look more like paintings than photographs. I am happy with that comparison.
I have been walking the Peak District hills for over 20 years and many of the places that I have visited now find there way into my portfolio. I prefer to photograph the less-visited and less well-known places in the Peak District and like to champion it's variety, which can sometimes get overlooked.
I live in Cressbrook, in the middle of the Peak District National Park, where I exhibit and sell my work. I also run tailored 1:1 Photography workshops and write illustrated and photographic-art related magazine articles.
