By BusThere are frequent services that link the towns and villages in the Peak District & Derbyshire. The most popular is the frequent Transpeak bus service. The best sources of advice when using the bus can be found in the Peak District, Mid and South Derbyshire, NorthEast Derbyshire Bus Timetables published twice a year by Derbyshire County Council.

Money Saving Ticket
A Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket is a ticket that enables you to travel through Derbyshire and the Peak District for a day on any bus (after 9.00am Monday to Friday, all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays). Travel to Sheffield, Leek, Macclesfield, Burton-on-Trent and Uttoxeter town centres is also included.
Tickets are available from Tourist Information Centres and many bus drivers, at a cost of £8.30 adult, £4.15 child/senior citizen, or £13.10 for a family group (two adults and up to three children).
If you're travelling on Sundays or Bank Holidays, ask for a Family Freedom Ticket. At just £8.00, a group of up to two adults and three children can travel on the Sunday bus network within the Peak District.
There's also a similar group ticket for the Hope Valley costing £3.00.
By Coach
National Express coach 440 between London and Manchester travels through the Peak District, stopping at Derby, Belper, Matlock, Matlock Bath, Bakewell and Buxton. For further information either call 08705 80 80 80 or visit the National Express website.
By Car
Getting around by car couldn't be easier in the Peak District & Derbyshire and with many roads having stop-off points, there's always a great opportunity to take in the sights around you.
A515 – runs from south of the area right the way to the north, travelling through Ashbourne and finishing in Buxton.
A6 – runs from the south east to the north west, travelling through Derby, Cromford, Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton and on to Manchester.
A57 – ideal to explore the north of Derbyshire and the Peak District. Running from east to west and past Ladybower Reservoir.
