Information for visitors with restricted mobility

Whether you're travelling into the Peak District & Derbyshire with young children, you're disabled or have restricted mobility, or simply getting here using public transport, you'll find lots of helpful information on our accessibility pages and those of our partner site at the Peak District National Park Authority.

Within the National Park itself, the wide range of recreational facilities are made available to as many people as possible, including the provision of special parking bays at popular car parks, accessible information centres and picnic sites, toilets with facilities for disabled people and, where practical, access onto suitably surfaced paths.

Community Transport

Community transport is part of the mainstream public transport system. It provides a comprehensive public transport service using accessible vehicles, enabling individuals who are unable to use ordinary buses and trains to undertake journeys normally taken for granted. Contact one of the eight community transport in Derbyshire to access this service.  For details go to www.derbyshirect.com.
