Set up in 2005, the Peak District & Derbyshire Destination Management Partnership (DMP) was set up to promote the Peak District and Derbyshire as a great place to visit for leisure or business. The DMP is the county's official destination management partnership and is an independent not-for-profit public/private organisation.
As a dynamic and innovative DMP (more easily defined as a local tourist board), our success very much depends upon a partnership approach. The Peak District and Derbyshire DMP is made up from contributions from the 11 local authorities, the Peak District National Park Authority, East Midlands Tourism, the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, The University of Derby, and more than 2,500 private sector industry providers.
Based in Buxton, the organisation has a very small and highly professional team with section leaders in Marketing, Industry Relations, Commercial Income, Business Tourism, DMS, Quality and Business Development. Together we will continue to support the growth of the visitor economy and maximise the impact of public investment in tourism.
The DMP board, which meets six times yearly, is a highly proactive team which brings together a mix of people from both public and private sector interests in tourism.
