Peak District & Derbyshire's new Excel Tourism Awards are designed to recognise and reward outstanding individuals who have made a difference to the local tourism industry.
The awards are open to all and, by providing recognition for people rather than the organisations they work for, they aim to showcase the quality and excellence within Peak District & Derbyshire's tourism workforce.
The new awards will champion quality improvement within the tourism sector and recognise achievements in staff training and skills development. By celebrating these achievements, Visit District & Derbyshire will highlight the commitment that many industry operators are making to support individual and corporate development, with a long-term pledge to:
• Create a high quality visitor experience
• Promote tourism as a career choice offering rewards for ability, loyalty and dedication
A new prestigious Awards Event held at Chatsworth House on Thursday 4th March 2010 will reward the category winners and celebrate all the best aspects of tourism in the Peak District & Derbyshire. We hope this will become an annual event which celebrates some of the most successful and committed people working in tourism our area.
