The Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards showcase excellence and outstanding achievement across the area’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards

Organised by Visit Peak District & Derbyshire in collaboration with Visit Derby, the Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards are a celebration of the passionate, hardworking and distinctive businesses who continually raise the bar of our world-class tourism offer.

The awards showcase excellence and outstanding achievement across the area’s £3.58bn tourism and hospitality sector, recognising the achievements of tourism businesses whilst highlighting the sector’s vital contribution to the local economy.

There are 18 awards categories in total, including the new 'Family Friendly', Dog Friendly and for this year 'Taste of the Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby' will be split into Restaurants and Cafes/Tearooms, applications for the majority of the awards are now closed. Applications for the 'Festival or Event of the Year' category are open until 23.59 26 October, the winner of which will be decided by public vote. The awards cover different aspects of the tourism industry, ranging from hotels, B&Bs and campsites to pubs, visitor attractions, unique experiences, and the hardworking people behind the businesses.

How to apply for Festival or Event of the Year

Returning for its second year, this year we have simplified the application for the Festival or Event category.

Eligibility Criteria:

Recognises providers of truly memorable and immersive festivals or tourism events which attract a wide range of visitors or appeal to a niche market bringing substantial benefits to the local visitor economy.

Festivals or Events which occurred between 01 September 2024 and 15 September 2025 are eligible to apply.

Directly involved in tourism, making a contribution to the visitor economy with a significant proportion of business generated by people visiting from outside the local area.

The festival or event can be for either a paid entry or free audience/attendance event.  The festival or event can be a one off or an annual event with a proven track record.  It should be noted that the supporting evidence in the submissions for this category are particularly important as any final assessment will be retrospective.

Judges will be looking for evidence of innovation and a sense of distinctiveness that adds to an event’s appeal to the visitor.  Please also provide evidence of the profile this brings to the local community and the contribution the event makes to the area.

Round 1 judging will determine a shortlist of festivals and events are open to a public vote.

Round 2 judging will be a public vote which will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze winner.

Applications must be submitted through the on-line application portal which can be accessed by clicking here, you can work on your application in stages, it allows you to save and return.

Award entries are easy to complete and are open to all leisure and hospitality businesses in the Peak District*, Derbyshire and Derby.
