star-ratings are determined by the services and facilities provided for guests, but also by the quality of the welcome, service and hospitality of the staff, the food and the cleanliness.
Having an official star-rating system helps potential guests know what to expect before they arrive.
The Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) is managed by Visit England and, through its network of regional assessors, boasts an incredible reputation for instigating, modifying and shaping change to the customer experience at visitor attractions across England.
The NAS helps accommodation operators improve and promote their true level of accessibility. With one in four (27.2%) of the UK population having a long-standing health problem or disability, achieving an NAS rating will open a business' doors to a wider range of potential visitors.
The AA Rosette Schemehas long been established and successfully recognises cooking at different levels nationwide.
AA Rosettes are awarded solely by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors External influences from hotels, restaurants or other guide are not taken into account when awarding Rosettes.
Serviced accommodation (hotels and guest accommodation) are eligible to receive either a Gold or Silver award. Self catering and serviced apartments are able to achieve a Gold award only.
