Are you a Peak District Champion?

Are you from overseas, but now live and work in the Peak District and Derbyshire and love it so much that you're keen to tell the whole world how wonderful it is?

Or are you locally-born and bred, but have an interesting story to tell - maybe even an Olympic connection - that could help to promote the area regionally, nationally and internationally in the run-up to the London Olympics 2012?

Visit Peak District & Derbyshire is looking for potential ‘Champions', who would be willing to be interviewed by print, radio and television journalists looking for interesting back stories about next year's Games.

Details of all Champions will be passed on the national tourist board VisitEngland, for inclusion in information they will be supplying to international media visiting Britain to cover the Olympics in 2012.

The tourist board has already recruited its first ambassador - Swedish-born mixed media artist Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp (pictured), a member of Peak District Artisans, who works and runs workshops from her moorland studio space in upper Dovedale and is passionate about living here.

If you are keen to get involved, and would like to know more, please contact Janette Sykes, the tourist board's PR Executive, as soon as possible, or by Friday September 23 at the latest, at janette.sykes@visitpeakdistrict.com or on 07792 924839.
