Calke AbbeyA time-capsule stately mansion and a former prime minister's home are the focus
for this fascinating break, set in an undiscovered corner of Derbyshire. On the
edge of the newly created National Forest, the area offers lovely walks
combined
with visits to historic places which give a glimpse into a lost way
of life.
Routes for two walks are available, chosen to highlight the contrasting landscapes
over two day's walking. There'll also be time to visit
Calke Abbey and Melbourne Hall Gardens. Excellent nearby accommodation means that you can
enjoy these walks with little or no use of a car.
