Derby Real Ale BreaksDerby is rightly known as ‘The Real Ale Capital of The Midlands’, but size for
size, it's probably the best city for real ale in the country! With more than
120 real ale pubs, three breweries within the city (The Brunswick, The Derby Brewing
Company and The Falstaff) and two CAMRA festivals each year, visitors are often
overwhelmed by the choice on tap.
The compact layout of the city centre makes Derby the perfect destination for
a Beer Trail. Drink the history in at the city’s oldest pub, Ye Olde Dolphin,
which dates back to 1530, or at The Brunswick Inn - the first purpose built railwayworkers’
pub in the country.
