Peak District Walking Festival group Walk the Peak in Festival Week – 25th April to 4th May
The Peak District celebrates five years of the Walking Festival in 2009... and
with more than 100 walks and activities over the duration of the 10-day festival,
there'll be something for all ages and abilities!
Set amid an extraordinary range of landscapes, from the dramatic heather moorlands
and gritstone edges of the Dark Peak to the gently rolling limestone valleys of
the White Peak, the Peak District Walking Festival will include a wide range of
guided walks with local experts leading walks on themes such as food and drink,
ghosts, heritage and geology.
Enthusiastic walkers return time and again to enjoy the stunning countryside,
capture the views and clear their minds of the pressures of everyday life. Other
visitors like to amble around at a gentler pace, perhaps taking in the delights
of local villages and stopping for a refreshing pint or afternoon tea along the
way.
