The group shall be known as The Marketing & Research Advisory Panel.
It will meet regularly as determined by the requirements of the marketing plan
as agreed by the Head of Marketing. Members will also be invited to contribute
via e-mail and telephone.
It will be chaired by nominated Visit Peak District & Derbyshire board members.
The core panel will comprise the senior marketing representatives of key tourism-related
businesses in the destination, together with a representative from the Visit Peak
District & Derbyshire Management and Marketing Teams. In addition, a representative
from East Midlands Tourism will also be invited to attend the panel.
Further to this core panel, additional specialist marketing expertise, invited
as required may also sit on the panel, as determined by the panel based upon the
requirements of the marketing plan.
In addition, representatives from national, regional or sub regional organisations
as determined by the panel may be invited to join the panel to help ensure successful
delivery of the marketing plan. These organisations should have an active role
in the workings of the panel with the potential to invest both time and funding
to the campaign activity.
Visit Peak District & Derbyshire will act as the secretariat.
The panel will be strategic in focus and will have the following responsibilities:
- To be guardians of the marketing strategy
- Guide the implementation of the ‘Attract & Disperse’ concept
- Provide practical advice for the marketing plan to benefit the whole local tourism
industry as fairly as possible (as opposed to individual businesses)
- Steer the future direction of the marketing strategy without scrutinising the
detail in the marketing plan
- The scope of work will relate to the five main building blocks outlined in the
marketing plan. These include market intelligence, product development, online
marketing and DMS, brand building and partnerships
- The panel will provide reports to the Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Board
as required. The report will be posted to the industry section of www.visitpeakdistrict.com
Members of the panel will be required to act as advocates of Visit Peak District
& Derbyshire. They will liaise with the local tourism industry acting as a
point of contact for further information. Members contact details will be posted
on the industry section of www.visitpeakdistrict.com to help with this liaison
role.
