The Peak District village of Tideswell is celebrating it’s first four star rated
bed & breakfast. Jaret House B&B achieved this prestigious award recently
following a visit by an independent and anonymous inspector on behalf of enjoyEngland,
the National Tourist Board.
Jaret House has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and renovation work
after the new owners bought it last September. It reopened at the end of January
with a fresh new look and three brand new en suite bathrooms.
“We’ve put of great deal of hard work into turning Jaret House into a contemporary
and comfortable B&B,” says owner Annette Killerby.
“It’s been well worth it too, as we’ve had lots of really positive comments from
guests.”
The bedrooms at Jaret House have been furnished with chunky reclaimed wood furniture
and richly coloured linen giving the rooms a welcoming and luxurious feel.
Jaret House has two double rooms and a single. Locally produced food is served
for breakfast where possible including food from farms managed in an environmentally
sustainable way.
“It’s all part of our environmental ethos,” says Annette.
“Local food is better for the environment and it tastes so much better too. If
it can’t be local we try to
source Fairtrade and/or organic produce.”
Jaret House is open throughout the year and costs from £28 per person per night.
