Celebrating its ever-growing reputation as a group tourist destination to keep
everyone happy, Crich Tramway Village has just announced enhanced Group deals
for 2008.
Throughout this year the Village - which is home to the National Tramway Museum
- has been the destination of choice for an incredible assortment of parties -
from tram and train enthusiasts to cycle clubs, from scout and guide groups to
probus clubs and WIs. Many of the groups have also travelled considerable distances
- some from overseas.
Commenting on the success of Crich Tramway Village as a favourite destination
for organised parties, Marketing Manager, Cara Marchant said: "Although we do
attract the specialist interest groups who have a real passion for transport history
we believe the main reason we are so popular in general with groups is down to
the diversity of the attraction - there genuinely is something for everyone at
Crich - all ages, interests and abilities."
Vintage trams journey to and fro down a cobbled street past the former Derby
Assembly rooms before passing under the Bowes-Lyon Bridge and climbing a mile
and a half of track that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Take a stroll along the fascinating Woodland Walk & Sculpture Trail which
winds its way back to the Village or remain on the tram and be dropped off outside
The Red Lion Pub and Rita’s Tearooms before visiting the fascinating Workshop
Viewing Gallery. There are also picnic areas and indoor and outdoor play areas
to keep the children entertained
To help make the Tramway Village and National Tramway Museum an even more attractive
proposition to groups looking for a day out, they have announced that group rates
for 2008 will stay the same as 2007. In addition a number of other incentives
such as free admission for helpers in disabled parties (one helper free to five
people), perks for coach drivers and free guided tours.
