The Hotel Inspector is on her way!

It is usually the call most accommodation providers dread, but on this occasion tourism businesses in Derbyshire are delighted the Hotel Inspector is on her way.

Visit Peak District & Derbyshire has announced Channel Five’s Hotel Inspector, Ruth Watson, will headline the 2007 Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Conference over two dates in November.

Ruth Watson is a well-known hotelier, restaurateur and food writer, winning the prestigious Glenfiddich award as newspaper cookery writer in 2001. She co-owns the award winning hotel The Crown & Castle at Orton on the Suffolk coast, where the restaurant has achieved 2 AA rosettes and a Michelin bib gourmand.

Now in its third series, ‘The Hotel Inspector’ sets out to transform some of the nation’s worst accommodation through Ruth Watson’s non-nonsense approach, aiming to turn “hostility into hospitality” and swap empty beds for ‘No Vacancies’ signs.

Ruth will address an audience of four hundred tourism and hospitality businesses at this year’s conference, sponsored by Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber, now in its second year.

Chief Executive of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, David James said, “it is essential to see quality standards raised in the Peak District and Derbyshire and there is a need for businesses to improve their offer to complete with our rival destinations. We’re delighted Ruth Watson is able to share some of her personal experiences with our industry”.

The event will also offer a series of Master Classes including Marketing on a Budget, Website Best Practice, Customer Focussed, Are You Conference Confident? and much, much more.

The event takes place at Pride Park Stadium, Derby on 7th November and Paramount Palace Hotel, Buxton on 20th November. Both conference dates will be ticket only due to limited space.
