West Hallam Well Dressing at West Hallam

This ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs or wells with pictures made from natural materials. In West Hallam, wells have been dressed for over 30 years and proceeds go to charity. Refreshments are available on Saturday and Sunday with street entertainment on Saturday and music on Sunday afternoon. Why not follow the scarecrow trail around the village? There will be around 9 wells on show at 3 locations.
