Youlgrave Well Dressing at YoulgreaveThis ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire and Youlgrave can trace its well dressing tradition back to 1829. Each year, about 150 people are involved in producing the 5 large well dressings (each about 3 metres square) and, in addition, there are 2 smaller screens made by our children and young people. There is a free continuous film show in the Village Hall from 10am - 5pm (duration circa 30 minutes) and refreshments are available at various venues. All day parking is available in the village throughout the week and there is a coach set down point at All Saints School.
The welldressings are floodlight after dark.
