This ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire and Youlgrave can trace its well dressing tradition back to 1829. Each year, about 150 people are involved in producing the 5 large well dressings (each about 3 metres square) and, in addition, there are 2 smaller screens made by our children and young people. There is a free continuous film show in the Village Hall from 10am - 5pm (duration circa 30 minutes) and refreshments are available at various venues. All day parking is available in the village throughout the week and there is a coach set down point at All Saints School.
The welldressings are floodlight after dark.
