Assault course charity challenge comes to Derby
Join in the fun at the County Ground on Sunday September 12 when the inaugural Charity Challenge at Derbyshire County Cricket Club is already set to raise thousands for Derby Hospitals Charity – there are still places available.
A friendly and fun competition for men, women or mixed teams; the Charity Challenge on Sunday September 12 will consist of an assault course, command tasks and a shooting range – all under the supervision of the British Army.
Priced at £120 for a team of four, the event will include certificates for all participants, lunch and the presentation of the Derby Hospitals Charity Challenge Trophy to the winning team.
Derby Hospitals Charity Community Fundraiser Kerry Wood said: “This is such a fun event and everyone who takes part will have a day to remember as well as helping the charity raise money for their local hospital.
“The great thing about this event is that it will provide equal opportunity and enjoyment for all, whether they are ultra competitive or simply taking part for fun.
Rani Uppal who is taking part in the event said “As soon as we knew about the event we had to take part.
“It is something different that we can all enjoy together and - as well as having a fun day with a competitive edge – we will also be raising money for a great cause. Our team can’t wait!”
“The money raised by our team is being allocated to the Renal Unit with the aim of providing a new Renal Caravan.
“The idea is that patients can book accommodation nearby then visit the caravan to have the three four-hour sessions of dialysis they need each week, whilst still getting that much needed break.
“Perhaps other teams have their own ideas of where they would like their money to go?”
