Casa makes its mark in Chesterfield

Chesterfield's only four-star hotel, Casa, has reached a key milestone in its development as the most complex part of the structure – the foundations leading up to the second floor – are now complete. To celebrate the momentous occasion a ceremony was held on January 27 and attended by key representatives from Casa Hotels, Global Brands and Miller Construction (UK) Ltd.

The £20million investment by Bradbury Hall Developments is due to open in October this year and will include 100 modern bedrooms, a banqueting suite, conference rooms, restaurants and stylish bars. There will also be a gym, facilities for wedding parties, open terraces and landscaped gardens as well as state-of-the-art offices occupying the two top floors of the complex. The recently unveiled plans highlight Casa as a first-class new development which will enhance Chesterfield's business and leisure tourism offering.

Steve Perez, Chairman of Bradbury Hall Developments, said: "This is such a significant moment in the development and it's exciting to think that in just nine months there'll be a new hotel and office complex in Chesterfield. Casa will be a fantastic addition for the town, creating more than 500 jobs and offering a major boost for the local economy."

Amir Rowaichi, Operations Manager from Miller Construction, added: "Miller Construction is delighted to be undertaking this project for Bradbury Hall Developments. Casa is an exciting project which is progressing well. Now that the concrete cores are complete, people passing the site in the coming weeks will quickly see the building taking shape as the pre-cast concrete frame works are commencing."

Casa Hotel is firmly on track for completion in the autumn with a formal ‘topping out' ceremony due to take place in April when the highest part of the structure is complete.
