Middleton by YoulgreaveMiddleton by Youlgreave

A charming little village where only the seasons seem to change over the years.

There was once a castle here that disappeared after a skirmish in the Civil War; now the village is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Set above the beautiful Bradford Dale, with pretty old stone cottages set around a spacious square, this is a gorgeous little place. All around are the spectacular hills and dales of the White Peak.

Things to do; Fabulous walking routes radiate from the village down into some classic limestone dales and up over remote hilltops with outstanding views. The ancient stone circle and burial mounds at Arbour Low are just to the west of the village. Holiday cottages and farmhouse accommodation is available but there are no other visitor facilities here, nearest village see Youlgreave.
