Details

Smisby is a small village close to Ashby de la Zouch and the Derbyshire-Leicestershire boundary in The National Forest. The South Derbyshire village of Smisby's main street boasts a fine 13th century church, 16th century Old Manor and village lock-up for the early 19th century.

To the south of Smisby is the Tournament Field where the tournament described by Sir Walter Scott in Ivanhoe was believed to have taken place.
