Rosliston is a farming community situated 2 miles south of Burton upon Trent. This South Derbyshire village was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Relauseston which was probably derived from Rodlauseton, an Anglo Saxon name meaning farm of Hrolf, a norseman. The church of St Mary the Virgin was largely rebuilt and extended in 1819 but the 14th century tower with its rebuilt broach spires still remains. In 1994, Rosliston Forestry Centre was opened, which provides numerous recreation opportunities including walking, archery, clay pigeon shooting, falconry and fishing to name but a few at the heart of The National Forest. Opportunities for fishing can also to be found at nearby Beehive Farm and Woodland Lakes.
