Details

Egginton village is a peaceful South Derbyshire village on the River Dove, situated 8 miles south west of Derby. The village stands in low-lying pastoral country near the confluence of the Hilton Brook and River Dove. The parish is crossed by the Trent and Mersey Canal and by the A38. The canal is carried across the Dove by an 18th century aqueduct, built by James Brindley. St Wilfred's Church at Eggington is a Grade I listed building and dates from the 13th century.
