As a person who loves being out and about and travelling, I love landscapes and the impact it has on me as a person, to be there and admire the wider view, hence my journey into photography commenced.
Through photography I am able to express my personal take on a landscape, and I love bringing all the elements to play, light, subject and composition, it is like a conductor of an orchestra, through image making I am able to express my feelings and thoughts as each photo for me expresses a certain feeling I have upon pressing the shutter release button.
The love of the outdoor life, fresh air, as well as opportunities to be fit through walking fuels my passion behind photography.
As I am based in Manchester, this provides plenty of photographic opportunities, especially around the Peak District, which is one area in the country I love to photograph, with the variations in colours and textures throughout the seasons through to the quality of light, and one can document the seasonal changes and the impact it has on the rugged landscape of the Peak District.
I particular enjoy the thrill and the game of waiting for the light and the preparatory work involved behind picture making even, if the opportunity to shoot is a couple of minutes, I still go for it!
I do try and stick to one motto I have "there is no such thing as good or bad light, light is light and its how you use it" rings very true.
