Sir Richard Arkwirghts Cromford Mills

Sir Richard Arkwirghts Cromford Mills

Hear the story of seven oil wells - one at Tibshelf produced oil for over 25 years until the end of WWII. We are now almost at the Centenary of this largely unknown but startling success story, not just of Britain's first oilfield, but also Britain's very first example of 'fracking', and there is an interesting connection to Silkolene of Belper.
