Details

Barbara and John would like to welcome you to this delightful part of the Staffordshire Moorlands close to the borders of The Peak District National Park, Derbyshire and Cheshire.

Set within 16 acres of meadow land and paddocks where the guests are free to roam, Oldfield Cottage is a detached barn conversion which sleeps 5 (1 king, 1 twin and 1 single) adjacent to the owner’s property in a tranquil, rural holiday location on the edge of the Peak District, in an area of outstanding natural beauty with delightful views of the surrounding countryside.

An ideal base to explore the Peak District National Park and such picturesque locations as Chatsworth House, Alton Towers, Buxton, Bakewell and many National Trust properties. Miles of traffic free walking and cycling are available on the Manifold and Tissington trails, including bike hire.

Within its own enclosed private lawn and patio area where children can play on the swing and slide, while the adults enjoy the tranquil scenery cooking on the barbeque, outside on the well tendered paddock that is large enough to hold your own personal football match or maybe just to play on the rope swing while enjoying a picnic, Oldfield Farm gives you the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the towns and cities and relax in the peaceful countryside.

Please note: There is a pond within the owner’s grounds approximately 200 metres from the barn accommodation. No smoking, sorry no dogs.

“Fantastic cottage”

The accommodation is a real home from home, well equiped and has everything you could possibly need. Barbara and John are very welcoming and full of useful information on the area. The location is perfect for visiting all the Peak District has to offer. We were a little unlucky with the weather but it meant we really enjoyed the comfort the cottage has to offer. The children enjoyed the playhouse and climbing frame and the rope swing in the paddock. We all had a fantastic time in Oldfield farm and look forward to visiting again when the children are older.
