The only vehicle entrance to Lyme is 1 mile north of Disley off the A6 main road, which is the main route between Manchester and Buxton. If using Sat nav please use SK12 2NR, and ignore any directions other than those to the A6 entrance, the main car park is 200 yds from the house. Disley train station is a 1/2 mile walk from the park entrance, which in turn is a mile from the house (a free minibus service runs from the park entrance to the house and garden on house open days). The regular Stockport - Buxton 199 bus service run by Skyline stops close to the main estate entrance.
Access for all: There is accessible parking close to the accessible house and garden entrances. A short guide to accessible facilities at Lyme is available on request at the main entrance to the park or by contacting us by e-mail. Accessible garden and house guides are also available. A free shuttle service runs on house open days, from the main car park to the house and garden, however at present it is not accessible for wheel chair users unless you are able to transfer yourself independently from your wheelchair to a seat on the mini bus.
