If we can make it we will - from bread to marmalade, jam and ice-cream, petit-fours to relishes or pasta. This dedication brought the George recognition from various industry watchers including the AA in the form of our first rosette as far back as 1997 and then two in 2000 which have been maintained ever since (our latest AA inspection in May 2009 re-confirmed this accolade for 2010).

From J 29 M1 take A617 westwards to Chesterfield and A619 to Baslow then calver-signposted/Baslow/Buxton/Manchester/Chatsworth. At Calver, turn right on B6001 signposted Grindleford. Turn left at Grindleford on A6187 signposted Hathersage. The George is on the lower end of the main road running through Hathersage. 5 minutes walk from Hathersage train station.
