“Great location, friendly & helpful hosts.”

Never having stayed in the Peak District before, this was a great introductory weekend to the area and its charm. The farm has a lovely garden, with plenty of livestock, as well as the wildlife - swallows, various birds of prey, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, etc. - and the resident 2 dogs and cat to interact with! Despite being in the middle of the haymaking season, our hosts couldnĀ“t have been nicer, and as well as a welcoming pot of tea and cakes in the garden, served up a bountiful breakfast every morning. Our (4-poster) bedroom was full of period charm, with the ONLY downside being that as the bed was very high, and the only small window being set low down, the room did have a view but you had to be on your hands & kness to fully appreciate it. The off the beaten track location meant that peace & quiet were guaranteed, though the long approach road/lane, extremely narrow with sone walls on both sides, is possibly not for the nervous driver, and might be a bit of a challenge for a larger (i.e., wider) camper van? All in all, though, a marvellous experience, and if you care to leave the car were it is and just explore the area on foot, you will be amply rewarded; thoroughly recommended.
