Part of the Lunchtime Concerts programme at Chesterfield Library

Piano Recital – by Andrew Marples

Andrew continues his A-Z series of recitals with composers with surnames J,K and L! His programme includes familiar music by Scott Joplin and Franz Liszt but also some lesser known pieces by Joseph Lanner and Albert Ketelbey. There is also a beautiful ‘Nocturne’ by Croatian composer Ferdo Lidavic. Andrew co-founded the lunchtime concerts 27 years ago and has performed regularly as soloist and accompanist. He conducts several choirs and has a piano duet partnership with David Mayo-Braiden. He also runs the Saturday concerts at Elder Yard Unitarian Chapel.

These concerts will take place in the Lecture Theatre which is located on the lower level of the library near the coffee bar. No food and drink is allowed inside the theatre and mobile phone must be switched off. Admission to these concerts is free with a retiring collection to help cover costs. Latecomers are admitted for the first 15 minutes of the concert only (unless the theatre is already full). No standing is allowed.
