The beauty of this open grass area can not be overstated which runs alongside the bank of the River Churnet. You may walk, cycle or even horse ride along the beautiful Churnet Valley on the disused railway line to Denstone.
The land was owned by Messrs Bolton and Sons. Since 1966, the derelict buildings have been demolished, the river channel improved and grassing and tree planting carried out to transform the area into the attractive place seen today.
