Starting from Derbyshire Bridge the walk takes us over Axe Edge Moor - the source of the rivers Dove, Manifold and Dane, we carry on over Cheeks hill to descend into the valley to Three Shire Heads and Panniers Pool where the boundaries of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire meet with its stories of the traders who used this area and evaded capture by changing counties, from here it's a traverse around Cut-Thorn Hill to Wildboarclough overlooked by the Materhorn of the peaks - Shutlingsloe. We then head up the valley to join Cumberland brook and Danebower Hollow to emerge at the Cat and Fiddle Inn - the second highest in the country, leaving a short downhill to the start.
