Details

Comfortable accommodation in self-contained wing of a nineteenth century barn in an unspoilt village. Set in the White Peak, Taddington lies midway between the ancient market town of Bakewell and the famous Spa Town of Buxton. Only a short drive to the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, it is also situated conveniently for visits to Lyme Hall, Hardwick Hall, Calke Abbey and Kedleston Hall. Just up the footpath from the cottage, you can experience the breathtaking views from High Well and also nearby is the Neolithic chambered Barrow called Five Wells. Keen walkers can follow the public footpath which passes by the cottage and head towards the valley of Millers Dale and onwards to Monsal Dale or alternatively head through Cheedale, Deep Dale or Lathkill Dale – all nearby. There is plenty to explore and a wide variety of plant, animal and bird life. Cycle Trails along former railway tracks provide a traffic free route for crossing much of the countryside and cycle hire is available from a number of locations. The accommodation comprises: living room with exposed beams and log burning stove; a bright kitchen and dining room; spacious hallway; one double bedroom with en suite bath/shower room.
