The Donkey Sanctuary Charity was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE. She dedicated her life to champion donkeys, and it is through her devotion that the Sanctuary grew to be the international charity it is today.The Derbyshire sanctuary situated just 6 miles south of Buxton SK17 9QQ is holding its annual open day
Members of the public can visit the adorable rescued and unwanted donkeys at the Derbyshire Centre, meet the staff and the donkeys too.

Open day for members of the public to visit the adorable rescued and unwanted donkeys at the Derbyshire Centre.

Visitors can meet the staff and get ‘hands on’ with the donkeys.donkey-buy related goods and watch The Donkey Sanctuary’s film describing the Sanctuary's work worldwide.
Hot drinks and refreshments will be available
Our Derbyshire Centre is on the A515 Ashbourne Road near the Bull i’ th’ Thorn Inn, six miles south of Buxton.
Admission free, but donations are welcome.
