Derbyshire Bridge Ranger Centre at Goyt Valley - Derbyshire BridgeDerbyshire Bridge Ranger Centre at Goyt Valley - Derbyshire Bridge

Derbyshire Bridge Ranger Centre in the Goyt Valley. The bridge is so called because it was in the past on the county boundary between Derbyshire and Cheshire. The Goyt Valley once supported a thriving coal mining industry which provided coal for homes and industries such as lime burning. Goyts Moss Colliery was extensive and Derbyshire Bridge is surrounded today by the remains of dozens of mineshafts.
