No 28 Community Hall, Market Place, Belper, DE56 1FZ.
Join us in launching an exhibition, celebrating and remembering over two centuries of machine-made hosiery and underwear production in Belper, using photographs and reproductions of bygone advertising. Was Belper once the underwear capital of the world? From Brettles’ fully-fashioned hose to Belper artist Tan Draig’s record-breaking attempt at the world’s largest string vest, there’s lots to see and enjoy. Includes material from the John Smedley Archive. A chance to raise a glass to Belper’s finest bloomers!
