A pretty little village of stone houses in a dip of the southern limestone uplands.

Just 3 miles from Ashbourne on the road to Carsington, Kniveton is often just passed through by most people. Sheltered by the slopes of Madge Hill it has a delightful church at the centre of the village. There is a pub, The Red Lion, in the village.

Things to do; The village is handily placed for Ashbourne and for touring the southern dales. Carsington Water, with visitor centre, shops, restaurant, water sports and wildlife sanctuary is just a short distance away. There are some good walking routes along quiet paths with especially good views from Madge Hill.
