A charming little village just 1.5 miles south of Ashbourne.
Standing in the shadow of the town, Clifton is delightfully situated above the meadows alongside the river. On Watery lane is the site of the old corn mill, where a stone plinth marks one of the goals for the Royal Ashbourne Shrovetide Football. Hanging Bridge, ¾ of a mile away, is a picturesque crossing over the river Dove. See also Ashbourne.
Things to do; Enchanting walks along waterside paths away from the bustle of the town. There is a pub in the village and also a nine-hole golf course.
