Village

Details

A peaceful, isolated village in the gentle rolling countryside of south Derbyshire.

8 miles south of Ashbourne, little happens now in and around the quiet country lanes where agricultural traffic is most likely all you will meet. Boylestone had its' one moment of fame in the Civil War when 200 Royalists were trapped and captured by Cromwell's men. They had spent the night in the church, which is now mostly Victorian.

Things to do; Get away from the crowds and watch time pass by! There is a pub, the Royal Crown, about a mile from the village.
